Wine & Asado

Unlike many other wineries, Descalzos Viejos does not offer standard or scheduled guided tours. This place is different. Everything is tailor made, offered on demand and prepared privately.

Every time I visit Descalzos Viejos Winery in Ronda, I feel as if its ancient walls wanted to tell me a million secrets about the culture of wine, monastic life and extraordinary facts about the history of Andalusia. This former holy building does not only impress me because of its location, surrounded by lush greenery, breathtaking gorges and extensive vineyards, but also because it houses one of the most beautiful cellars in the world, with vaulted ceilings and original frescoes adorning its antique walls.

As well, and now speaking from a more “human” point of view, I must tell you that you will love the authentic Argentinian “asado” which is prepared and served by the hosts of the winery themselves. I am passionate about this unique culinary experience: great tasting wood fired “parrilla”, celebrated Argentinian flavours, mouth watering cuts of meat and the stunning scenery that surrounds the place.
