Barranco Market: Riverside tapas, wine and ice-cold beer
This imposing riverside glass and iron building (designed by Gustave Eiffel—remember the Tower) houses 20 different food stalls serving a mouth-watering array of tapas, from international gourmet delicacies and excellent seafood to traditional Spanish favourites, as croquettes or Iberian ham (please, try the croquettes: the closest I have ever been to paradise!).
And yes, it might be a bit crowded at times, but this is Spain, and I love it! However, it boasts a light and airy design, and it has riverside seating outdoors too.
Inside this former fresh market, you can also taste a broad selection of fantastic local wines and beers. As the different stalls offer particular types, there will always be a drink to suit everyone.
