Tabarca Island: Going back in time

I love pristine waters, beautiful landscapes and peaceful places, that’s why Tabarca Island is one of my favourite spots in Spain. It is a small island off the coast of Alicante, surrounded by an area that has been designated a Mediterranean Marine Reserve.

I love strolling around its old town, because it’s like going back in time: quaint courtyards, little local shops, no noisy vehicles and many places just to sit, take in the views and feel the history. Tabarca is how I imagine some Spanish coastal towns looked before they became touristic hot spots.

In my opinion, one of the coolest ways to access the island is by catamaran, feeling the delectable morning breeze on my face, seating or lying on the mesh net while the crew prepares a delicious barbeque on board! Doesn’t it sound great?
